Thanks to Volunteers, Companies Who Helped Establish the First Planting in the Garden!
We could not have created the first flower bed in the future McIntire Botanical Garden without the generous companies who donated a tree, shrubs and perennials, and the hard-working volunteers who planted them December 14 at the intersection of Melbourne Road and John W. Warner Parkway. (See a photo album on our Flickr page.) How beautiful these will be in spring, summer and fall, and the native Black Gum tree is the "cornerstone" tree for the future Garden. Further, it represents the relationship between the McIntire Botanical Garden and the Charlottesville region. What a joyous way to bring closure to 2016!
